Skype for iPhone App Reviews

I use Skype to talk to my boyfriend whenever hes not in the country or to just simply call him everyday. I havent used Skype very long, but I know that it is not supposed to look like a messed up version of a social media platform (which I have absolutely no interest in). I started using Skype towards the end of the previous version and everything was fine. Messages were somewhat quick and calls would only fail if WiFi failed. Enter the update..... Issue 1 Why dont messages send for a while? I mean if youre in a hurry to talk to someone because maybe they are getting in a plane and they cant text you for the next week, youd want to send them a million messages. BUT with this update messages take forever to send (Ive seen others mention this too). Issue 2 Whats going on with the calls?! As I mentioned earlier, I simply use Skype to talk to a loved one, but I cannot successfully do that if the call keeps buffering every five seconds. Issue 3 Is autocorrect disabled, or is the application just that slow? I type at a quick pace so I have no time to pay attention to grammatical or spelling errors. Thus, I rely on autocorrect to fix it for me or tell me what is wrong so I can fix that. This update does not have a reliable autocorrect! When a spelling suggestion is made and chosen the new word will not be used in the sent message. At the moment that is all I can personally find that is wrong with this once perfect application. Enjoy this review from a High School Freshman who does not enjoy social media! Edit: Ive noticed the copy paste responses.... Do you really and truly care about your consumers Microsoft? Or do you want us to find some other form of communication?

If I could give this horrible new version negative stars I would. Please fix this mess. The color scheme, all the random unneccesary blank space, the silly mood things....awful, unneccesary, unwanted. If I wanted instagram or whatever I would have started using it long ago.

When I place a call I get information that I missed one? Are you guys kidding ? I cant call anymore some old numbers. User interface is non intuitive. Contacts are all mixed up. My first two-star review ever. Please fix it

Ive been using this app for a while and some improvements can definitely been seen. The dial pad is much more sensitive and therefore, no more delay in sending the touched numbers. I dont need to try once more again.

This new update hides online status and I cant figure out how to change avatar or make those text status. This app is no longer worth the data usage for me and Ill be deleting it until I hear the app has changed to my satisfaction and easy to use again.

Does what its supposed to do and more, extremely useful

As someone who just wants to make calls (no mood updates, color scheme changes...) it does what I expect it to do. Sure, the desktop version may be more reliable. But its fine.

Do not download! Its an entirely new layout and is confusing as heck! I wish I read reviews before upgrade because its so weird! Not even skype anymore!

The new version is very bad. Ive been a very active user of skype for years. This is the worst update ever. Unable to understand, see and read anything. Who is online? Where are calls? How to find people? Why did you do it? Do you want people to leave to Viber? Please return to something close to normal Skype.

Now I will delete this app from my iPhone.

I wish i could give a negative star as this upgrade doesnt even deserve a 0 star. Its almost as if they dont want us to use this app any more. Most of the options dont work, its hard to navigate around the app! Urge skype to go back to its previous version.Atleast it was usable!

This new update has rendered Skype pretty useless. I have no clue how to figure out whose actively signed in anymore so I dont really see the purpose of this anymore.

App doesnt show whos online and whos not. I cant even change my own status and I have no idea if Im online or not. The color scheme feature is useless but they keep pushing it. Took out all the useful aspects of a video chat. Entirely useless app, will probably have to switch to something else to keep in touch with family.

Dont upgrade to the latest version you can no longer update your status

Its now almost entirely unusable. How could this happen?

OK Microsoft, inbound receiving phones on an iPhone or iPad is pitiful, BUT... I thought it would be better on a Microsoft Windows 10 OS Phone. Nope. Get to work!

The WORST EVER!!! Had to reload the old version.

Just horrible after the recent update.
