Skype for iPhone App Reviews

Cant call or do anything , the new lay out Is a mess. Im looking for a similar app to the old Skype. Skype also does not allow me to call others , thanks Skype you really screwed things up this time.

The old version of Skype was so much simpler. I was able to get in touch into my friend across the globe (which by the way, his contact deleted itself and I want it back). I was able to call people easily, update my profile easily, and tons more. It was all simple and I enjoyed the app. However, once the update came along, I couldnt even understand what happened to the old, lovable Skype. I dont understand this "color scheme", or anything! I could easily add people onto skype. Now its taking much more longer to frickin add my friend! I cant even find my old long-distance friend!!! Please, please, PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD VERSION OF SKYPE. THAT IS THE SKYPE I KNOW AND LOVE. I DO NOT LOVE WHAT IS REPLACING OLD SKYPE

Been using Skype for international calling for a long time then one day, all calls were blocked for no reason. Searched the Internet and figured that my account is temporary suspended which is funny. The worst part---there is no easy way to just fix it and move on, so bye Skype. I still have credit on the account. Its just not worth the time and effort to go through that ridiculously complicated process . Keep up the bad work Skype! Update: 07/28/2017 New update is completely unusable!!!!! Seriously

The only problem am having with my Skye app is my caller cant hear me if am not using earpiece

I have to re download every night to use Skype or it fails. The new look is also horrible. Gg, you ruined Skype.

I dont normally use skype much, but I put the app on my iPhone in order to be able to communicate with an intercontinental friend. I have three things to suggest. 1. Add a "are you sure" when the call button is pressed (I keep having a problem with the call button being pressed by accident) / dont do that "you missed a call! Call them back?" thing. That makes it worse. 2. Please please please please get rid of those horribly ugly emojis. Why do they bounce? Why? 3. Add the ability to change the notification sounds. The skype notifications are way too quiet. I miss them constantly, and as far as I can tell theres no way for me to adjust them currently. Hoping some of this gets updated soon. If not, I may have to convince my friend to switch to a different messaging platform.

i liked the simple clean interface that the app used to have before the "upgrade". i hate all the clutter and attempt to somehow be a whats app or some other social app instead of just being able to reliably place and receive calls! i am not feeling any "love" for the current version! all this does is present an opportunity for someone else to give us back a retro app.

Ability to set yourself to invisible or away - gone! Little colored circles to see whos online - gone! Youre never going to get the teenagers, so please bring back a "classic" version for us adults..

Ive moved abroad, and skype is the only thing my mum knows how to use. Now I cant chat with her any more. The app is completely broken. Really sad.

The best app . Love it .

Keep it simple and go back to the basics.

I wrote this 3 years ago: Although probably a lot of work went into this new version, the new UI is still not great, its not intuitive and its not updated to match iOS 7. I still want my old skype with big buttons, a huge speaker icon and a big red "end call" button. Today, 2017, a new version was released and I would write exactly the same review. Not intuitive, not updated for iOS 10.

This version of Skype lacks of a lot of useful features that the older version used to have. What a shame.

The new version of this app seems to have deleted my chat history on skype and Im furious! Bring it back!

Every picture has a pop up with the senders name, an x, a share option, and an emoji button. It looks really cool. BUT YOU CANT REMOVE THE POP UP so you only see part of the picture

What an annoying, stupid update Did anyone figure out how to use this thing? Who cares about silly themes? Bring back old Skype interface
