Skype for iPhone App Reviews

I live in South Africa and have friends and relatives in the U.S. I call them all the time as I have unlimited minutes each month. I have never had a problem with the clarity of the calls.

after having the new update for about a week, i can confidently say this new update is horrible! while the interface is nice, the functionality is glitchy and above all slow; it takes minutes for conversations to load and even after killing the app, the newest message still refuses to show. please do something about the constant "CONNECTING..." status-- it was better off without it.

Every time I update the app Im hoping for these spoken of improvements. Nifty little changes dont help me at all when the app keeps getting slower and slower with more and more lag. Come on Skype! Speed this app up. Simplify if need be but this is getting really bad. Your app is not graphic intensive so there is no excuse for your app to be so laggy and slow.

Ive used this app for a couple of years, and the desktop version since late 2008. ALL OF SUDDEN, the iPhone app is demanding to know my date of birth as a pre-condition to starting. That stinks. I will not give MS Skype my true date of birth. Please remove this "feature!" PS: I have since removed the app from my phone. I will be happy to restore it once this and any other similar intrusive "features" are removed.

I use it for calls when I only have wi-do service and its super cheap! Its only $1.85 for an hour of talking, so my $10 credit is still going a long way. And the quality of calls is comparable to that of cell reception.

Invaluable app; high quality audio for overseas calls; the text messaging platform helps me stay connected with overseas developers.

I love skype and all, ts my life, but I cant turn off my phone on a call or else it disconnects. Also when trying to reply to someone after getting out of the app, it doesnt load the new message until you get out and swipe the app away. Very annoying but other than that, its okay.

Love the app for keeping in touch with grandkids; able to see them while chatting.

Not bad,sometimes problems with sound system,cant hear clear voice and even with video chat also.other than that good

call quality is absolutely low, calls end unexpectedly, it has so much delay, full of bugs, messes with internet connection and slow functioning system in one word this app sucks.

For many versions now Push Notifications dont work on Skype. Prepare yourselves to miss every single message you receive.

I have great land line calls with skype I am really happy with it .
