Skype for iPhone App Reviews

Why destroy something that was already JUST fine? The interface is broken, the camera wont turn off, calls end from a day long, etc etc. WTH skype???? Oh and also dont have alarms go off people. It freezes the audio on the call youre in. These past recent updates disgust me. Update: Im honestly gonna switch to a different video/audio call (any recommendations?). Skype is horrid now and its not getting any better. Youd think theyd learn after all these complaints. Somethings gotta give and I think its gonna be me giving up on this app and NEVER going back to it. They arent gonna change anything anytime soon anyways. Update 2: *sigh* poor old skype rip they say that theyve fixed reliability issues but I dont see anything of that sort. While reading the description of the update I thought: did Microsoft understand that they messed up a perfectly FINE WORKING APP THAT DOESNT EAR RAPE YOU WHEN YOU CALL SOMEONE? ... nope Im bout to be officially done with skype.

Please dear god it was the best thing about this app and they were removed without any logical reason

It seems like a group of interns that failed every single human factors or user design class in their undergrad studies was assigned the Skype redesign challenge (whatever the heck that is). I had to delete this app. It was the logical thing to do given its "crap" interface. Within 5 mins of wondering whether my status was online or could be set to invisible I knew this relationship would never work out. Im dumping you Skype. Bye!

Really?? The new update is just to make user confuse or put into some kind of puzzle??!! The UX / UI is WORST! Very confusing and cant find what user is looking for!! Where is "sign-out" etc hiding??

Thank you, Skype. Thanks for making me update the app, reset the password, change all the settings I had, rebuild my profile and then -- heres the terrific capper -- delete all my existing contacts and call history! Man, what a great "update"! Next time, can you include a gun so I can just shoot myself while Im at it? That would be such tremendous progress! You have failed in a spectacular fashion.

The new update has brought unnecessary features and taking out immensely important ones. I am now forced to see a column about highlights from things no one posts instead of my friends status. The new sounds are unnecessary, too

+ after a reinstall of my phone and the Skype app can no longer log in ?

Good grief - skype/microsoft continue to "refresh" this app making it cumbersome for old users No wonder apple & google do and will continue to rule

Its confusing. I dont know how to use it.

The all new design makes it super hard to work with skype. And this is not just a problem that is going to be self-solved in a few month - The design is inefficient and makes everything more complicated - The other feature which looks like a copy of snapchat stories to me has absolutely nothing to do with skype. You should separate the apps into one traditional skype and one snapchat clone by MS - First you destroyed and later shutdown MSN then merged it with skype and now this thing. This is not what skype was once developed for and you know that. Skype was a successful Videochat / Messenger Application but changes like adding snaps into it wont bring back its popularity at all. instead you should focus on advertising skype along side other microsoft products. cheers

The new skype version is good. We can turn it into a dark theme which helps my eyes a lot whenever i talk with my friends at night.

fix this version please. I cant see if my contacts are online or offline! I cant see the away status of contacts I havent talked to recently!!!!!!!! I still cant see any contacts statuses and I cant change my status to away!!!!!!!!

This new interface is uncomfortable and counter-intuitive. Please change it back, this is awful.

Seriously, its ugly and inefficient. Not to mention I cant even use it anymore because it crashes before even opening.

I like it very much. Better than previous versions of Skype

Microsoft destroyed such beautiful application. They are masters of unwanted nag screens...! As in Windows annoying popups everywhere.

Crashes, cumbersome to use, and terrible new sounds/tones (just dial a phone number and you want to delete the app).

So many needed things. Actually listen to your user base followers we all use to love Skype with how simple and easy to use on desktop, that we got it for iPhone. But with both pretty much varying in style and the un-needed things, pretty much just makes the desktop the best thing and mobile, the worst. Doing these such drastic changes has been a nightmare and Im pretty much thinking I should just fully go to discord because majority of my friends are on it. The only thing that keeps me is the file size of sending and downloading through Skype with few friends and chatting with the few friends who dont even know discord. And they only use the PC version too. They dont know obviously how annoying and how much of a headache the mobile is. Please go back to the old ways and maybe do surveys or something to work with your user base instead of just making everything worst.
