Skype for iPhone App Reviews

On the skype update summary it said, "We are listening to your feedback." But are you? Are you really? I used your application because it was business presentable, easy to access, but now it looks like a preteen mess. My boss questions the legitimacy of your company, as you dont "listen to feedback." Modernization does not mean the obliteration of simplicity, which is exactly what you did. The new skype theme is terrible. Change the theme back to its origin. The application now runs much slower, and you lose most of the original features. Oh, but I can change what colour my messages show as. Hooray. Whats with the highlights thing? Oh? Whats this? Another app copying snapchat? Great. I cannot change my skype status, online status, it lags, it is slow, it was cooler before the theme change. The old sounds are better, it was cleaner, smoother, and comfortable. Had I the ability, I would give no stars. Suggestion. Have split feedback between those liking and disliking the new theme? Allow the user to choose what theme they want. Or create another application that is the previous theme, and just do monthly bug patches. I know this isnt an original idea, but it would make your company more versatile. Might require more people power, but youd satisfy the masses.

please please please bring back the ability to change if other people can tell if youre on or not, its crucial at times to be able to talk to one person and have a certain other person think youre not on also, bring back being able to kick people out of calls

All was good until they changed the structure and design of the app. Now I am unable to see who is online, as well, I cant call anyone over video call again. The screwed the app totally and I now have to look for another way to communicate.!

update 08.08.2017: the second update brought new promises, but no new functions - is this the way you should treat your loyal customers - bring back the online status/sort function for active users. update 16.07.2017: well the first update since the unwanted/unneeded/catastrophic change is there - but still no change to missing online status - so how long do you think you can still do what you want and not what people demand/need and can ruin an successful App - come of your glass towers and listen to peoples needs... Were are the online status of my buddies and how can i see/change my online status ?

Okay. I get it, youre tired of Skype. You want something that is not Skype! Well, this application is for you! Its a better looking skype without an online status choice! You want to appear invisible? Oh silly you! You use the app, obviously you want to appear online! Yes, the look is simple and really nice on the eyes, but goid luck talking to someone using the desktop, if you type a :) they still see an emoji! Overall... This is not Skype unless you guys bring back the; occupy, away, invisible, oofline and online options. It feel wrong to get on to read convos only to get constant messages of people thinking youre online when you just want to read old conversation.

Awful, bring back old version Seriously, uninstalled until functionally is returned, this blows.

1. Move Contacts from a button to a tab instead of useless Highlights or Capture. 2. Bring back filter All/Skype contacts.

Sometimes connection is good sometimes its bad. Cannot find where to add a phone number to a contact

Skype was the best app now horrible complete change for no reason something that worked great. I hope somebody brings this back to what it was because the new version is not good at all!!!!!!

The last 2/28 update broke few things that worked very well before. This update requires constantly rebooting the phone. One of the things that doesnt work at all is the dial pad if you need to enter code for into a conference call. Calls using skype contacts constantly fail and require a phone reboot. I think this whole iPhone-Skype integration that messed the things up. I am very unhappy. Ive been Skype user since 2007 and use it for most of my calls in the US and international. Update 08/17 I resolved the previous issues by reinstalling the app. The new update... whats up with all these psychedelic lines and colors?

The new version of Skype is really really bad, Had to finally delete it and switched to another app. very disappointed

I appreciate that all of my phone contacts are present but confused as to why all of my conversations are not. New layout seems to be geared toward a totally new user not taking into account previous user experience. This really seems like a Microsoft view rather than the original SKYPE teams view.

Skype is my main form of communication with several people. It was simple and easy to navigate... With the new update came a level of unnecessary complexity. Its clunky, even if meant to look streamlined, and horrible to have to navigate quickly and easily.

I cant hear him and he cant hear me on calls because of the different versions, apparently. What a waste.

I dont have too many problems with this app. It mostly works well, and its good to see that the devs are listening to feedback.
