Please bring the old Skype back!

So I got Skype to text someone who doesnt have a phone number. It works great for me but it uses a lot of data and I need my data to watch anime and write my books on Wattpad (My profile is @MagicalPhoenix89) I dropped my phone and I went to get it repair. The worker there told me that Skype on your phone can damage it! Skype is meant for computers and laptops, NOT for phones. Please do not damage your iPhone or iPad with Skype.

Skype app automatically updated. Its horrible. Cant find any way I change my online status. Cant see online status of friends. Wish I could go back.

Prior to this new update that cause Skype to seem it should be some new form of terrible social media, I used it nearly every day to contact people easily. Also, I was enabled to have a wide range of customizations to the application. Now, all of that is gone. Skype development team, do not annihilate your once usable calling app. You can still revert it back. For now I must give this product a rating of 1. Good day.

Upgrade makes things too complicated and hard to use!!!

Why did skype change the layout?!!!! That was what made Skype great! I loved the classic old layout. This one is horrible! Guys DO NOT UPDATE TRUST ME

I love this app it lets me text my friends and call then there is a little lag but I think this app is really good

It worked only after a painful learning curve. Icons are so tiny, fine-lined, unrecognizable. Maybe you shouldnt fix what aint broke? I couldnt even figure out how to hang up! That red dot is no telephone receiver in my book. Hard for anyone who isnt near sighted. Can I have the old version back? I just need functionality based on visual literacy. I dont need change for the sake of change. KEEP IT SIMPLE, please!

UPDATE 08/04/2017: Today it got stuck showing one unread message when everything was actually read. Deleted this piece of junk, it does nothing but irritates me. UPDATE 07/09/2017: Today when Ive been calling my daughter, it suddenly has changed its calling sound to some childish cacophony. So in addition to visual torture, there is a sound one as well. It looks like Ill have to uninstall it on the phone and stick to the desktop version. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Design became worse in almost every aspect: - Bright irritating UI. This color craziness causes REAL PHYSICAL PAIN, I cant look at it more than 10 seconds. And it cant be completely switched off. Even with black & white theme I see that bright palette when I start calling. - Useless "highlight" and "capture" tabs, while for the calls I have to click on small button in the corner. - Big heart sign that covers part of the screen during video call that cant be removed. I want to see people Im talking to, not that bloody useless heart. - 2/3 of the chat screen is taken by frames and spaces, and only 1/3 with text. It is absolutely idiotic! In chat the most important part is text and emojis, not all that surrounding trash. Designers of this nonsense shouldve been fired and then sued for all the torture they made to the users, not to mention the money Microsoft has lost.

Still bad. This new UI just misses the mark on the biggest use case... quickly seeing who is online and easily being able to contact them in whatever way the user wants. Why dumb it down and prioritize features like "highlights" and "capture" - dumb social networking garbage that other apps have already a captive audience. After 3 terrible updates, youre losing your most loyal users trust and pushing people to find other products.

I dont even understand why, I cant see who is online anymore, if I can I dont know how. Theres more social media BS, which isnt the intended use of Skype to begin with. Its crap now - I cant do anything. Revert back this is trash. 1 star Update 8/9/17: you can see some users online if you recent talked to them, however theres no way to look at your entire contact list and see who is all online which is annoying. 2 stars

While I still use Skype, I use it less and less every time mostly because of terrible interface that was brought by recent update.

I deleted Skype from my IPhone after the new update. It is so convoluted. I just need to call my mom on another continent for Gods sake.

The update made Skype practically useless. Just use discord instead, its 500% better.

No stars. The nice app is gone ??? unfortunately it does not have an option - NO STAR!!!!

I miss too many calls, it does not ring thru but tells me I missed a call ... older versions nvr had this issue
