Skype for iPhone App Reviews

Does anyone think about responsibility for killing Skype. Nothing works.

I cannot reach any new contacts with this new update. The old version was perfectly fine. Why switch to something I cannot use?

What isnt broken doesnt need to be fixed. And a good product doesnt need to be made broken for no good reason. The new update basically ruined skype. "Color your world" pop ups crash the app, Conversations take forever to load, No longer lets you see thumbnails for images / YouTube videos, Opens links in a skype browser which is incredibly buggy and super slow, (why doesnt it open YouTube links in the YouTube app by default?) Doesnt register when you read a message so it constantly shows you messages youve already read as unread, (sometimes when you type a reply to your friend!) New UI is needlessly confusing, Call and text notification is much softer then the old, meaning its really easy to miss a call / message when youre not paying active attention to your phone, When you accept a call on your computer your phone goes crazy and acts like youre being called. And sometimes it doesnt shut up without you manually declining the call, All in all the app used to be good. Now its terribly inconvenient, laggy, and buggy. Once discord gets screen sharing therell be no point in using skype.

I can hardly stand to use this app after this update. Sadly, we use it for work. The themes are atrocious. Not sure what they were thinking with this update. I regret having auto updates enabled.

Nobody hears me AT ALL

The new UI and theme is bad and doesnt fit in with any other version. The app is also slow and takes up a lot of disk space (but doesnt freeze on start up like the last version)

I used to go offline so I wouldnt get calls but then in the new update the made Skype ugly and now I cant go offline and I keep getting called at midnight so I cant sleep :(. Please add back that you can go offline, away, do not disturb, invisible, and online plz I hate this new update.

Um, Will Skype be reverting back to the old update? By now, Ive looked through hundreds of negative feedback regarding the new UI, and I can already see that Skype acknowledges that the majority of people dislike it. I can pester at many things I like and dislike about this new update, such as; the new theme selection is nice, the screen is easy to navigate, but I hate the fact that we cant access our profile info and the fact that we cant tell whos active, calls are terrible quality, and video quality is probably worse... The main idea is that NO ONE LIKES THE NEW UPDATE. Excuse my impoliteness, but can you get that through your heads? You may have put a lot of effort into this new UI, but overall, your customers are finding this unsatisfactory, and you are losing profit overall. I believe that this can help Skype and their customers; please do what you can to make it as similar as it was to your previous update. I love the fact that youre all putting a lot of effort into making Skype as easy and accessible as it can be, but maybe youre trying too hard? Please take this into consideration, Emi

I have never left an app review until just now because this update is awful. Impossible to navigate and missing functionality. Why would they remove the ability to change your online status on the app? Absurd

I updated Skype yesterday and I cannot figure out anything at all really its so complicated and looks completely unprofessional now. It looks like snap chat and Instagram. I hate this so much I wont be using this app anymore!!!

A company needed to use Skype for an interview so I was going to use my iPhone, I am extremely tech savvy and Ive used skype before. But the app on here completely ruined my experience, do not download this app unless you want to punch a hole in a wall. I canceled my skype account and will never look at the name Skype again of how complicated they made it work. iMessage and FaceTime are the future, Skype will go obsolete soon.

Every single night at 11:15 pm messages stop sending for at least five minutes and wont send unless I completely kill the app and restart it. Very annoying.. please fix asap!! It happens without fail and the messages getting stuck has been an issue for forever

The latest release of Skype on iOS is a huge change for the worse. The new UI is simply awful. I do not want the speaker on for every call. When Im ready to hang up, the hang up button isnt shown, instead Im on some pointless screen and have to tap once to get a different screen with the button to hang up. I dont know what Highlights are and I dont care. I have never once in 10+ years using Skype needed to Capture something. If Skype needs something new, copy Slacks genuinely useful ability to Snooze notifications.

I dont even want to use the app, as I cant make a username. The first account I made put my email. And the second one put some random generated username.

Better video that other apps out there...

Absolutely horrible and not user friendly after the new update the app is confusing and dysfunctional. Who ever designed it and allow it to be released wanted it to be probably cool but made out of himself a fool!

Whenever I want to make a call I have to have the other person call me because my outgoing calls never go beyond the connecting screen, then even if it does connect the call and it lets me answer it(it doesnt sometimes) it will sometimes stay on a loading screen then the app will crash.

Ive always loved using Skype. Its my go-to. No matter where Im at, it works for me.

I know everything changes but Im mad about the fact that Im not getting messages from some of the people on my Skype.. thats what needs to be fixed. I have my notifications on and it isnt showing me that people are texting me!

I want the old Skype back, the new one is completely screwed up.
