This current app version is a bit better now with setting sign off, edit profile. (Yes, I know duh its so basic but Skype app failed to have it prior to this current version.) Thus, from 1 star Im giving it "2 stars" now. But still when uploading photo, it doesnt include the new ones among the photos in my album/library. While Whatsapp and Viber are instant or automatically including the newest photo. Skype App doesnt work even I tried many times in different ways. Then its "last seen" is extremely inaccurate a lot of times.

I hate it, I hate it and hate it some more. Whoever did the UI on this new version is an idiot and has never used Skype. I cant even see the status of people, cant access my favorites and cant even log in with my Skyp email. OMG, please rescue this app. Everything Microsoft touches turns to crap. All you needed to do was to fix the actual backend issues, not the UI. The mst important features of Skype are now useless and so hard to find.

Skype has always been a great app and invaluable for my business and personal communication.

You can always count on Skype from chatting to multi-conference, big files sharing, and phone calls to cell and landlines anywhere in the world with crystal clear communications. Love it. Im more than a decade year subscriber and its way beyond WhatsApp (I love it too), with its limitations. Skype has it all in one single app on any device from cells to iPad, Mac, Windows, or Linux. Skype and Evernote its all I need.

Changing the user interface from time to time is great, but at least keep the apps functionality the same. Now skype is really dead after this one!

I cant log in. I cant send messages. Cant receive messages. I have 4G and fast internet. Ive tried reinstalling the app but it wasnt the solution. HOW DID THE UPDATE KILL THE APP???????

I had this app before and I just got it again but I cant sign in on my old account and I cant make a new one every time it just says "something went wrong"

Rarely do I write a review but for a critical communications tool like Skype, this update was disastrous. Switch from cellular to Wifi? A bug in this update turns the camera on by itself. Accessing iOS control center (swiping up) usually gets Skype confused with swipe left/right to add media to a conversation Trying to find a group of colleague to call? Good luck, nearly impossible to find. Trying to add a person to a call? Good luck, doesnt work usually. Simplify and fix this app please!

Major difficulty turning on and off camera as well as turning it.

Bad bad bad.

Lets not even address the horrible look of the update, thats pretty straight forward. However, this app does not work the way it used to before. I use his app for group chats, but when I open the chat, I can only see about a dozen or so messages and then it freezes and I have to wait for it to load another dozen messages and so forth. This takes so much time when I am scrolling through a night long chat, and it strenuous on my battery. My keyboard disappears, photos dont send and they glitch around my screen, the app totally freezes, I dont get notifications even though they are turned on, and a very common issue for me is that my messages just wont send. If I suspend he app and open it again, even if only seconds later, itll totally reset and I cant reconnect. The calls are glitchy and the cut out all too often, and this location button couldnt be in a worse position. I go to hit send and it asks me to enable my location and blah blah then it starts recording my voice and to get back to my message I just wanted to send, I have to close the chat and reopen it, which is no longer a quick swipe right. Thatll lead you to the useless story options. Itd be at least worthy of one star if it at least gave me something pleasant to look at while I fought through this devastation of an update. Please work through this, I love Skype and hate to see this happen Edit: notifications dont work whatsoever. Whats the point

No privacy at all in the new app . Horrible design , this is the worst version ever

I use it often to connect with my parents who arent keen on WhatsApp or messenger and, it works better than google hangouts. Data usage is low which is important when Im using it internationally under more limited data plans.

This used to be one of my favorite apps up until the recent update. Its a pain to use now. Where it used to be smooth and convenient, now it chugs like a rusty train and sometimes just deletes text instead of sending it. Cmon, guys.

If you were accustomed to a highly functional, minimal frills app coupled with a navigable UI, forget about it. Skypes first interface was likely more usable and functional. This feels like something out of a startup incubator thats not ready for release. Functionality like accessing multiple phone numbers for contacts is either lost or hopelessly buried beneath the useless user-unfriendliest interface and incredibly worthless " highlights" section. Its like the project team hopped on the curated content bandwagon w/o thinking it through. Id recommend canceling any auto credit renewals and using a different app for your communication. I may even have to teach my folks how to use something else than this piece... I have multiple phone numbers and Skype accounts for several contacts. I cannot differentiate between them, nor do I want to watch 5 different cartoons to figure out if its even possible anymore. This Skype edition appears to have been written by snap-on chat wielding interns who have rarely actually used Skype for person to person communication. I could care less about emoji special effects. UPDATE: Nope. Still a serious downgrade. Why have all my contacts details become disjointed? I dont need ponies & rainbows, just a well thought out, functional UI with access to actual functionality.

The new version of skype is far from perfect. It lost functionality and i can not use it the same as before.

All my history disappeared! Where are my Skype contacts?! Can I get the old Skype back?!

Ive used Skype for many years over several platforms - always appreciated the clear and intuitive interface. This latest update is a disaster. I am not a paying subscriber to a convoluted social media service. Skype is supposed to be a voip call provider. Now the app is so confusing that I can barely figure out how to place a simple call. Please go back to what you do best - and what Im paying for!
