Skype for iPhone App Reviews

Id like to see the mood messages and the Snapchat resemblance to be gone. I dont want Skype to be another social media. This app should be kept as a simple private media that easily allows video chat. Everything else should be fine. Id just like to see the social media part gone

It was working ok I guess, until this dumb update... it completely signed me out of my account. then I had to start from scratch in redo all the details of my account. Plus it deleted all my Conversations!! so annoying just wasted over 30 minutes with this...

Horrible UI, worst user experience ever. I use skype for years and extensively and I cant find anything I need without opening all the menu items. Extremely counter intuitive.

Its official, Microsoft has murdered Skype. RIP Skype. You should all be ashamed at what youve done to this once life changing tool. Pathetic.

Hit Update on all my apps. Was unlogged from skype on my iPhone for no reason, used email address to re-log in, and it instead created a new account. Had to go back to my old laptop, find my Skype username and reset password.

Why destroy something that was already JUST fine? The interface is broken, the camera wont turn off, calls end from a day long, etc etc. WTH skype???? Oh and also dont have alarms go off people. It freezes the audio on the call youre in. These past recent updates disgust me. Update: Im honestly gonna switch to a different video/audio call (any recommendations?). Skype is horrid now and its not getting any better. Youd think theyd learn after all these complaints. Somethings gotta give and I think its gonna be me giving up on this app and NEVER going back to it. They arent gonna change anything anytime soon anyways. Update 2: *sigh* poor old skype rip they say that theyve fixed reliability issues but I dont see anything of that sort. While reading the description of the update I thought: did Microsoft understand that they messed up a perfectly FINE WORKING APP THAT DOESNT EAR RAPE YOU WHEN YOU CALL SOMEONE? ... nope Im bout to be officially done with skype. Update 3: Skype kicked me out of my account and I can no longer use this useless app. Bye skype Im gone.

why did you do this. i cant find my contacts, i dont understand how to use the app now, its all like in a bad dream. how do i get the old skype back?

Skype is my favorite video chatting tool, hands down. Very good quality and free if youre going app to app, even on cell service. So easy to use. Too bad you have to use Microsoft to log in though...kind of weird and unexpected.

Ive been using this app for 4 years to communicate with my family abroad, with and without video. As long as you have a pretty good internet connection, you can communicate well.

Now dont get me wrong change is good every now and then and Skype for what it is right now is meh. Its not good however. I dislike that there is no more do not disturb, invisible, or away. The location button is still too close to the send message one. The colors for the text I dislike since things like bold for me are black but for the person talk to me their white its slightly confusing since thats not bold. Now one thing I would suggest is a Skype Classic app or something to bring the old Skype back. It was so good and this update broke that with removing most features. Now online status is back cool took long enough why wasnt it there at the beginning of this redesign? With this I shall end this review thank you for taking your time to read this if you have. ~ Rapid

Sad but true; 8.3 has failed - if for whatever reason youre unable to provide your consumers with the option to retrieve older version then easy fix, use your current Skype for business design, wed appreciate it! Thanks

Skype used to be really good, but now it isnt. The logo isnt even in the app itself, and now it says my brother is "too young" to use this app. We are watching over him well, plus you have to pay a .50 cent fee to verify younger people. So much for "always free".

From its cartoonish colors to its useless user interface this is absolutely the worst messaging app ever. I want see my contacts in a list and see what there status is and latest message then click on contact to see messages. Now I have a chats tab with my messages and no contact status. The old app was perfect for minimal layout and easy to see information. The new app is one big confusion. I cant even see when someone messages me if I have not been in the app for a few hours. I want the old app can skype please put it back on the App Store.

Can you make it to where you can see peoples bios also Im the only one out of my friends that have the enhanced version of Skype everyone else has the older version also sometimes I would press something or go on something and skype would crash.

The app is very good! I live in US and call my family almost everyday in Brasil without any problem. 5 stars!

Dont know why this app is rated so low. Its flawless. I use it all the time
