Such a bummer

I love using skype, I use it constantly for messaging friends all over the country. Unfortunately with the recent update I dont get reliable notifications. Its so bad that my friends and I are going to have to switch to discord or some other similar app. Really a shame.

Its okay

Please update so we can have a volume bar in the app. I Skype with headphones on and its unbearably loud sometimes. My volume on my phone is turned all the way down as well!

Nice

I like Skype Bute slowly in iPhone 5 plizz fix this ? In any Update

garbage pure trash.

I dont understand how ANYONE can mess up an program that worked perfectly fine for YEARS! Did Microsoft put teenagers with know programming knowledge on this and told me "have fun"? Or lets assume they arent total idiots that they are doing this on purpose to destroy the programs user base but in that case just delete the whole program! Why are you torturing people with these horrible upgrades that are pure trash!! It was fine before why did you break it!???!

Easy, reliable, attractive

As a daily user of Skype, Im liking the new design and usability. Good call quality and quick messaging. Overall, a very good app for business use.

No, I dont want my profile to have all my personal info

Ive had this update for a few weeks, and though I dont really care for the new look and feel, its been ok for me functionally. However, today the app signed me out, which wouldnt be a big deal since Ive stayed logged in for a long time through several app updates. But I wasnt able to log in without providing my birth date. Thats not something that I want or need to share with every app, since it is used as personal identifiable information (e.g. by banks, government agencies, etc...) It isnt something totally private for most people, but Skype doesnt need it, and should not be forcing me to give it out.

Skype made my overseas move better

I moved to Indonesia and Skype is my main source for calling both land lines and cell phones. I can use other apps like whats app or hangouts, but not everyone has the app on their phone. With Skype it doesnt matter.

Used to be a Great app!

Used to be Great - lost tons of functionality in the latest update.

Not bad

Getting used to it . Its quite cool

Sad

Total degradation!!!

Terrible Update: Status and Calling

I can no longer receive notifications for skype calls/skype phone while in DND mode. It doesnt matter if skype is set to receive notifications, if I am on DND mode on PC the mobile version pushes no calls or alerts through. This is extremely unintuitive; I got skype phone since I cannot be at my PC always to receive calls -- and in the past DND mode did not interfere with receiving skype phone calls, the only thing it did was disable text message alerts. Whats worse is that DND mode via mobile means disabling all alerts and cannot be toggled as easily as before. Statuses were simply toggled by choosing the appropriately colored button and that was it -- now you have to do this convoluted thing where you adjust the notifications on the app and on your iOS settings. Disabling iOS alerts NEVER impacted the background processes of the app prior, simply they just got rid of any chance of being bombarded with alerts on your homescreen, and the internal app statuses effected the priority of messages while using the app. As cute as it looks now I have no idea why you would completely re-write the system. It was simple, straightforward, and easy enough to navigate. Im worried about missing an important call simply because my mobile wont alert me anymore. Really wish we could degrade or at least fix the system so it was more streamlined as before. Nothing about this update is user friendly, its as though none of the features were reviewed properly and were pushed out in a desperate attempt to be trendy like discord. This was a very poor attempt to repackage the product, and I hope its fixed soon... I thought I was getting hotfixes, and now I wish I never updated the bloody thing.

Confusing new version but still great

The money on account from the old version disappeared and my history disappeared and I couldnt find any tutorial on the new version and I had to sync all my contacts with Skype which apparently means Microsoft is now sent all my contacts all of which is disheartening. There seems to be no innovation that Microsoft wont buy out and subjugate. All that said until cell companies stop charging usurious rates for what they disingenuously and anachronistically call "international calls", pretending there is something called the PSTN, I will use Skype.

Horrible

I dont care for your stupid waves, but my contacts are gone. You know what, enough of this, theres enough alternatives these days. Uninstalling.

I dont need another social media app

Skype was all about business for me. Making and receiving calls and it was perfect at that. Now with all the social media added to it it makes no sense and honestly I dont even feel like using it anymore.

Worst app!

It was never that good, but this latest version is shockingly bad!

New skype is horrible

Skype app used to be handy and straight forward, until my phone did an auto update.... ewwww what happened to skype?????? Cant see whos online, too many spend your money features removed all functionality

Horrible!

Very, very confusing on the new version. Will not update any app next time before checking on the review. Worst ever. Will try to load the old version back, but is that even possible?

The new update is complete ugly

The new update is complete ugly Id like to get the previous lovely design back! Windows pls delete this stupid wave from the start desk !!!

ahm

this is actually trash i cant bloody log in

Old Skype is better

Really surprised at how frustrating Skype has became to use. This is a "Microsoft Vista" deja-va that software iteration turned into a customer frustration. Some suggestions for "improvements" include bringing back features previously available. Sort contacts by active and non-active on Skype Be discreet and allow user to call by Earpiece, not Speakerphone, by default. Oh, and some usage studies across different groups of users might help.
