Skype for iPhone App Reviews

I have been using Skype 6years and as it updates it gets worse and worse. Can not join the group and can not hear the voise all the times. And specially when I joined the group, it will disconnect from the group at around 24sec. Now I can not call my friends and they can not call me either, it will always show call failed but we didnt even receive the call.

One word: terrible! I cant believe someone at skype approved this new version. Bringback the old one it was working!

Bring back: Status control, Contact filters-(on-line/Skype/all), Dedicated contacts tab.

Works good ! I dont get used to the last update , but works

Utter crap. How can you revert to the old version?

Quit trying to copy other apps. Being able to set your online, away status needs to come back.

I loved skype, and my friends and I used it daily. Sadly after the update I am now unable to open the app. I mean that exactly as I said it, the app will load then quit. Ive tried restarting my phone, closing the app, but so far the only thing that works is deleting the app then re-downloading it. So the app is ugly and complicated, but to top it off, IT DOESNT WORK!!!!

I usually dont write reviews on apps. I have been a Skype user for a long time. This update is cool at all. I like the old way please bring back. I made a call today on Skype and it was horrible. Old features need to bring back.

Ive used Skype a lot for years. I didnt love the old client. It was clunky and dated. And confusing especially regarding contact management. Unlike other reviews I have read I find the new app generally improved and feeling more reliable but usability of the interface is terrible. Its cryptic. Weirdly modal. Icons disappear, functions are unclear, contact management is baffling. Integration with iOS phone function is a big plus but still rough and unclear. Far too much emphasis and screen real estate has been surrendered to dopey cute animations in ugly multicolored pallets. You know you could hire people with taste if you wanted to. Also while we are at it, Id REALLY like a lower-bandwidth audio OPTION as many of us traveling internationally or at sea often are operating with slower connections.

The new update is not that great from a user experience perspective. Everything is shifted around and I couldnt even find my landline contacts. Its even hard to find the logout button since thats buried under a settings menu. Make sure the next version is back to a simple version!

The new version is awful, there was nothing wrong with the previous version, but now the new interface is so cluttered and difficult to see. You cant even see if the other user is online or not. Skype, you need to make vast improvements.

Finally get to talk to my family from the other side of the world easily, clearly, and affordably! Thanks Skype!!!

I used to love skype and use it regularly until now. Its very confusing and annoying. It shouldnt act like a social media app and it should just be how simple it was back then. Please bring old skype back and listen to all the users who will use it again if you bring it back!

Dont understand the rework, this hasnt improved the experience. Also basic things like the location button being so close to the send button I hit it accidentally constantly. Bring back the previous version!!!

The new UI is too cluttered! I miss the old Skype where everything was simple and clean. I dont know if they got rid of the sms feature or what but I cant figure out how to do it on this latest update. For someone who uses Skype for international calls and sms messaging that was a big deal for me. Looks like Its time to switch to Viber.

I like it . Very easy to use .

The app has become more and more clumsy and user unfriendly. Too much emphasis on cute graphics. Simple remains better so alter the focus on getting the call out and or in. Youre forcing customers to go to Viber or other VOIP clients. Go back and revisit the original Skype interface and build from there.

Terrible usability. Diminished privacy options. Loss of ability to set offline status. I could go on... Bottom line: This is a pathetic, wrongheaded, horribly-executed attempt to create a social media platform out of a messaging app. Avoid this update or use something else if you possibly can.
