Skype for iPhone App Reviews

The new Skype app always freezes and have to get out of the app and reboot. Not so user friendly . All fancy with moving patterns makes my head spin, and distracting .

Terrible ui, unable to change status to away/invisible. Trying to make skype looks like instagram or Facebook is terrible idea. Bring back the old app!

This version has removed most of the features that I use. I had heard that it was bad, but never expected this. I guess it is time to look for a different app.

Too radical tho

Yes the new additions such as being able to edit the messages after a hour and able to see when people were online are okay but the new update is terrible mainly. I sometimes go back far in chat history to read things again but now I cant go as far back as I could and as I like. Whenever it loads its all glitchy and all the new additions such as capture and find are unnecessary. Yes find may be a bit fun but its just a unneeded addition in the long run. Bring back the version before this bad update! I liked the way it looked before!

The new design is confusing and much harder to use. I still dont know how to update my status - maybe its me?

A user interface is a lot like a joke, if you have to explain it, its not very good. That is exactly what the skype app is, a terrible user interface. It was perfectly good before and now it looks like some hippy made the app because theres tons of wavy colors and who had the idea to put in highlights? What is this Snapchat? Literally skype is becoming a joke

I use Skype for work- not to have "wow!" And "awesome" chats with my buddies. I dont need pastel swirly squiggles- but I would like to be able to save a simple phone number, as I was able to do with the same old Skype. And it would be great to access the famous "live chat" - which I seem unable to do in this impenetrable new interface.

Quality of call varies on the internet connection

I cant find anything. It took five minutes to find my call list by accident. Why doesnt that come up first?? Cant tell what the symbols mean. The select a color doesnt tell HOW to select a color. When I got a call. I couldnt figure what to press to answer. The buttons to do things like mute or hang up keep disappearing. This was not well thought out. Most of us use skype to talk to a few definite people, not to chat with strangers. This seems designed for the scam artists to send out porn.

This app works fine, no problems for me.

Thank you Skype for making life among loved ones much easier when their apart. My family is back home for a vacation and because of your app I am to make calls and see them in real time making the whole process of the aching heart to completely vanish, since calls are crystal clear and the video is amazing(albeit at peak times its a bit spiffy but Im not complaining at all!!) Thank you so much to the founders and developers who made this app as a godsend and my final words are you have truly made the world a smaller place!! Cheers!!

This version of the app is a huge failure. I use this app for work everyday and I have never seen such a big mistake in design and usability than what was done with this app. I dont know who is making the decisions but need to study more what is needed

I am currently stationed in Europe and Skype was once my favorite source to contact family members and them contact me directly via one quick phone call. Now since the update my mom calls and I cant even get a notification. Skype changed for the worst. I really hope they change it back. Because there are people who pay their money for an app that doesnt even work 15August 2017 I deleted the app on my iPhone and downloaded it again. Signed in and just clicked yes and allow to everything. I also turned my microphone on through the app. I was having the issue of not being able to accept calls just voicemails. Its fixed now with just a little more effort and patience. Nothing is wrong with the app it was an operators issue. New update isnt that bad after all. Thanks skype for all your pretty new colors and updates.

I am paying for 2 different Skype accounts that I use for business. I normally add the phone number of my client with their name and then call them with my skype outbound number. Why would take away this SUPER IMPORTANT FEATURE that I use everyday????

The updates to this app are amazing. It is more smooth and I have had better call clarity than the phone calls. An easier way to search for contacts would make it even better.
