Great communication tool.

I always loved Skypes basic and efficient layout and functions. I never needed nor wanted anything above what worked. Unfortunately, not only did Skype go beyond a complicated setup, but its no longer a practical app to use. Its far too laggy and difficult to maneuver through, when it isnt crashing. Too many apps and sites are trying to "upgrade" themselves into something more flashy and with more functions, now Skype has fallen prey to this flawed thinking. I hope theyll fix their errors soon.

Does Microsoft know how to build a product where consumers can actually use it with ease? A product that is intuitive, or simple to use, or doesnt have a ton of bugs? Its a serious question. Every single product I use from them is cumbersome, crashes, and dont right confusing. If Microsoft truly values customer feedback, heres on; hire developers, or product managers, or whatever that know how the average person using technology. Zoom is absolutely the way to go.

New interface is clunky, not well thought out and harder to use. Interestingly sound quality when making calls seems to have deteriorated. Time to find an alternative.

Im stunned and completely baffled that Skype has an average of two start reading. What else can an application do? This is a phenomenal app that I use everyday to call my family all around the world and it just works seamlessly. Thank you!

To MS: listen up! You listened when we hated Windows 8 and you produced a much improved and successful Windows 10. Why in HELL wont you listen to us again? Bring back the old version of Skype, user friendly version without all the BS glitzy themes crap?! A Skype that works, allows us to easily add contacts to our call list! Just a VOIP app that freakin WORKS and doesnt try to be Line, Whatsup, etc?! Enough is enough! This version on iphone STINKS!!! (-.-)

Who thought this was a good idea??????? This new UI is utter garbage, totally incomprehensible and if I could have given it 0 or negative stars, I would have. By the way, thanks for removing all my contacts and chat history. Super helpful of you guys. Roll this back ASAP!!!!!!

The new user interface plain SUCKS! I have spoken with other Skype users and they all say the same. Someone was not thinking logically when they developed the new version and its clear adequate user testing and feedback was not done. When used the first time its particularly troublesome with no clear directions and too many options. Everyone I spoke to had same problem. Usability needs to be reviewed and the app simplified so anyone can use it. Also big minus on the new version is the is no longer any indicator as to who is online. Now it only should "Last Active" time. Why ditch the online indicator? Also sometimes I am missing calls from people, but may be connectivity issues so that may not be Skype fault.

New version was uploaded to my iPhone even without asking?! Complete unusable crap. Can I please have old Skype version back?!

Seriously, did msft try to test this before releasing? No logic in the interface. All the previous group chats (and history) are completely gone. Long messages are delivered only partially even if for sender it looks like it is delivered and seen. This app doesnt deserve even 1 star.

I bought credits over AppStore but on skype it shows 0€ balance. I have checked over my bank, the payment confirmed. There is no phone or someone to reach Skype. Awful program.

Could you put another column with just calls? This would allow you to keep your new design but would make us easier in terms of accessability to favourite contacts.

This is a ridiculous attempt to infantilize an app that had been working just fine for so long. Awful.

August 2017 update. Once again it is awful. Cant see who is online. Start typing and then it uploads more details and cleans what I wrote already. Dont need any social features. Please let me have them deactivated Old review: Cant see messages. Receive notification - but dont see anything in the chat. The counter of unread messages doesnt go down.
