Everything was great in Skype, very user friendly. Until someone thought: oh lets change it, oh lets "upgrade" it, oh lets make it look "more nice", oh lets make it trendy!! Really??!!! It was perfect!! It was!!! It was!!! Why some people just cant leave it alone. When its broken nobody fixes it, when its working perfectly fine someone wants to break it!!!

Excellent communication app for making both voice and video calls with amazing clarity. Recommended for anyone with overseas call to save tons of money.

Saw the update on the AppStore and thought maybe theyve fixed the changes theyve made, saying theyre "listening to feedback" while they only make a few changes for this horrible app. Iv completely abandoned skype at this point, and im not going back until they fix it. I still cant even open the app because every time i try to open it the app crashes.

It looks a lot and I love it and truly recommend people to use it!!!

Skype is not improved by fancy new animated graphics. Skype is not improved by removing the ability to easily send chat messages during calls Skype is not improved by making any new updates incompatible with older versions Fix the call quality Fix the in call chat system Fix the bugs!!!!!!!! It must be hard for one hand to know what the other is doing when the thumb of that hand is so deeply embedded up a sunless region.

Skype audio is unusable - all voice calls fail - text is ok UI changes do not add to functionality so why change?

The new update is horrible. Please give us an option to stay on the old version.

How did Microsoft screw up Skype? I just wasted hours of my life trying to find out why I cant have a greeting on my voicemail for the phone number I pay for. Why should Skype get the advantage of my AT&T voicemail that I also pay for? The whole point of getting the extra phone number was to use for people I dont want calling my "home" phone. Ive used Skype since 2005 and I cant believe how convoluted the site has become with no customer support, just a continual loop in the "customer service" page of forums. Bleh! Canceling my Skype. Too bad. I loved it for the first seven years. But they dont care because no one at Skype will ever read this... apparently.

Can call Skype to Skype all over the world to keep in touch with family and friends and can also pay as calling card to any phone around the world. Could not live without it!!!!

The interface on update was terrible. I was automatically logged out. Even I was confused if it was the original skype or a fake app.

EDIT 8/14: None of my messages are showing up on the app, only pc. Please fix asap, some of my friends dont have discord so I still need this garbage app. Original: So since you only respond to stuff you can fix without removing the entire new ugly format: -the video quality has gone down radically -I cant find legitimately anything in the new format -new messages wont show up unless Im scrolling down and theres no notifications. Now that Ive got your attention, prove you actually give a crap about your customers. Read this and respond, dont pussyfoot around this Amanda. I see you responding to people. Back when you changed desktop Skype from they layout in 2014 to the circle mobile garbage, people werent happy. If people werent happy about you making a circle a square, how do you think theyll feel about you taking something they love and have know for years and turning it into instagram? If I wanted instagram, idve downloaded it. If I wanted Skype to be Facebook Id use their video calling feature. This update isnt user friendly, more then 50% of reviews are calling you out for this garbage decision. Dont worry, this will blow over and be laughed at after we all move to discord. Nobody likes this. Nobody will ever like this. Stop ruining things that were fine.

Will be going to Europe in 2 weeks, my reason for downloading the app. Works great within US hopefully works great in Europe too. :)

The current version of the app is so user-unfriendly that its unusable. I spent 15 minutes trying to figure out how to add a friend after having used skype and older versions of the app for years. Added too many features that casual users dont need and buried all of the basics below those features.

The app is great and everything, but theres a problem with sometimes the call gets started and the other end sounds totally distorted.

Im a Skype user for years and since MS took over years ago the usefulness degraded with every release, but this last UI "upgrade" for the iPhone tops it all. By adding useless gimmicks they are making the most simple task of making a phone call a tedious job. Im using Skype Out a lot, but Im seriously looking for alternatives now.

UPDATE: They released a new version in August 2017 which has made this awful app even worse. I didnt think it was possible but somehow the team at skype has done it. I don’t even know where to start. Microsoft has never gotten this app to properly work. Instead somehow they managed to petition iTunes to remove their hundreds of bad reviews and now the rating for this app has gone from 1.5 starts to 3.5 stars. When you try to call people it doesn’t connect, when people try to call you and you try to pickup the call it doesn’t work. When you call someone else it will send it straight to voicemail or refuse to connect even when said person is online. Oftentimes the messages between your computer and phone aren’t synced except suddenly on occasion it “syncs up” and then bombards me with notifications for 3 day old messages. When someone calls me on another device and I pickup, it will keep ringing on the iPhone on and on and on, no matter what you do. The list could go on, this app is a complete piece of garbage, and I encourage Microsoft to spend less time cooking their review rating here and more time fixing this terrible terrible non-functioning app we all depend on.

Microsoft literally has the worst customer service ever, which trickles down to skype. trying to log in after forgetting your password is not easy. at all. now im blocked.
