Skype for iPhone App Reviews

The new layout is simply garbage, nothing around it. Im not going to adapt to this so I dont find myself using this often anymore. If you want big changes, cool. But you should try doing so in a way that doesnt alienate every user before hand. Guess Ill give discord a try then.

I love this skype app but Ive had to deal with problems where my messages wont send so I have to delete app and get it again but this recent time Ive gotten it again after deleting it and it wont send me the code

The new version is so bad I had to delete it as it is aggravating. Other users described its flows, I just add that even a beautiful Skype tone is marred now by a squiggly blue worm bending its body while you call. I have switched completely to Zoom, Watsapp, Google chat and other apps what used to be one stop shopping at Skype.

Switching to Facebook Messenger for my video chat needs. It actually, you know, works. New Skype makes everything a hundred times more difficult than it needs to be. For no reason. Utter trash. Deleted.

This most recent update is pretty awful. Firstly, putting the audio record button in the same place as the send button is absolutely terrible planning. Why on earth would you do that? Secondly, taking away the ability to see which of my contacts are online other than scrolling through recent chats with them is frustrating. Finally, with this new update, I dont always get notifications of new messages, and the app itself is slow. Why add so many useless features to it - like trying to add a Snapchat-esque story to it - when taking away existing features that people loved? Ive faithfully used Skype for years, and Im extremely disappointed with this update.

Getting better and better, at first I didnt like the "new" skype but with last update they made it mor usable. Im skype user over 10 years.

I use Skype at least once a week to stay in contact with family in Europe. Fortunately, the picture and audio quality keeps improving. Lately, audio and video quality is very good and I have not had a dropped call in a while. The new interface is completely changed, but after a short learning curve, it becomes somewhat intuitive.

Placed by Microsoft people Sad sad they have to fake reviews Well thank you Microsoft for the dumb idea with your bad upgrade of SKYPE. Some of my contacts have Skype but they dont always have an internet connection. Therefore when I want to want to call their mobile number I select their name but it starts calling them without telling me whether this is using the internet or dialling their mobile number. I use loads of apps all the time and dont know why this upgrade is so confusing. The dial icon is gone. Why?

I cant find anything any more! Where are my contacts? Why cant I see a list with people that are online? Whats the purpose of the "capture" tab that comes up when you swipe left (as annoying as iPhones lock screen!). Very cluttered, I want to go back!

I installed this new application on top of a perfectly good previous version and it lost all my contacts

This is an example of an app update that is all flash and no substance. All the features were accustomed too (status settings, online contacts, etc) were done away for useless features (highlights, following, etc) that have virtually little to do with what the app is used for: communication. This isnt a social app - its a communication tool. Fix it.

The new update took everything that made Skype what it is away.

All my old data is gone. Looking to a complete empty app. Even my phone credits are set to 0 (there is supposed to be $12 there). UI is total failure. 2 thumbs down.

Thanks for ruining Skype. If I could give 0 stars I would. The UI is awful and you better change it if you dont want everyone to abandon skype!!!

ok so ive been using skype for like 2 years now? its been great. but why. WHYYYY did u have to change it Dx it was so good the way it was.

New interface is highly confusing and unintuitive for legacy users. Seems like this is due to developer outsourcing to 2nd rate shops. Congrats Microsoft. This is the windows 10 of skype!

I used to love the old simple version of skype. But now there are all these kinds of new settings which make it really complicated at first to just video call a friend ... I dont care about the colors or taking pictures and sharing them on Skype .... its just too overwhelming. However, Skype calls are now better. The calls dont just drop as they used to and the picture and sound is better.

Please go back to a simple format and stop trying to make this into something the users dont want. I just want to be able to easily call the phones of my family overseas, and to chat with them on skype when they have internet.

Skype makes the connection with friends and relatives are possible without much cost
