Skype for iPhone App Reviews

I have been using Skype for many years. Last couple of years I have been a paying member, using Skype credit. This is the worst version of the app I have used so far.

Well, its alright. I hate the new look.. its so boring.

I use Skype the most to chat with my sister overseas. Since the update, I cant easily see which contacts are online, hide conversations, change my status to invisible or away. Those are my main issues off the top of my head. I dont like that it has highlights, like Snapchat, Instagram, and Facebook stories. Skype has become too complicated to use.

What used to be a helpful tool for communication has become a pile of actual tumors and feces by attempting to fix what was not broken I would give 0 stars if I could. Save yourself, get Discord instead. Theres no video on Discord, but at least it actually functions unlike this piece of filth.

the new theme is terrible and sticks out like a sore thumb and tbh its super annoying

free calls and clear depending on the internet connection. of course its better if its a call not a video call.

I usually dont review apps, but holy moly this "update" is horrendous. Skype used to be a pleasant, fun to use app. The sounds were inviting and the colors enticing. Skype has completed removed their signature sound and replaced it with a eery childish ring. Get your s*** together Skype.

Its been weeks like this: messages occasionally would not send. No, its not my wifi because I switch to my phone data and it does the same thing.

The original app had at least improved over the years vs this completely horrible redesign. If you want a text book case of how to destroy an app, then this is it. Theres no meaningful information to be gleaned from this UI nightmare. I cant even tell which of my contacts is online anymore. Basics first, thats all I can say... very disappointing

Your update is actually the worst thing I have ever used the user interface is so trash nobody wants to take a picture during a video call its a dumb idea I touch my screen and takes me to a camera revert your update most people are going to use other stuff instead

Its stinks, a giant step backwards. Everything is too big now so doesnt fit well on the phone screen. Today I dialed a phone number, made a call, that worked, but there is no way to add a name to that phone number. When I try to edit the profile for that number, the "view profile" is grayed out. Completely unacceptable. Thank you Microsoft for ruining an app that was working very very well.

Please go back to the ORIGINAL app! It was so much better and simpler!!

Call clarity is great.

Completely worthless since the 8.1 "update". Either give us the ability to use the old version, or give us the ability to sign in with our regular account on the Skype for Business app... as it stands Im uninstalling this app and likely wont ever reinstall it unless they bring back all the core functionality they gutted.

I cant understand why should I tap twice for Skype calling with someone. Why calling is embedded in a drill down menu? Besides, I thank creators of Skype a lot for the great call quality.

Taking the definitive step from mediocre to virtually unusable. This is an unparalleled and somewhat bizarre step. Has the programming and design team been replaced with middle school kids? Im looking for the link to MySpace in the app. Update - 7 August. The app interface remains horrible. This is painful.
