Skype for iPhone App Reviews

at first i thougt the update wasnt so bad, change is good sometimes and honestly i thought the new look was cute. while all my friends were saying "ew the text bubbles are so ugly etc" i was there saying "shhhh text bubbles dont listen to them they dont have a sense of good taste" and then later i saw more and more features and im like what. is. going. on. here. and i hate how everyone keeps copying snapchat with the "stories" or in this case, the highlights. its just so annoying. honestly, let snapchat do their thing and you do your thing. i hate this because its like when i draw something really amazing and then i forget to put a signature and then someone else takes credit for it and signs their name. another thing thats been bothering me is how s k y p e. a l w a y s. c r a s h e s. why? it was working perfectly fine before the update. but then when i go to try and use skype, it goes to the loading screen and crashes. it even has crashed while i was in call a couple times! me and my friends like to use skype because some of us play games and in the same call others video chat and its fun to have a lot going at once. but nOPe, yOu HAvE to CRasH eVErY ThrEE sEcoNds. and the only way i can fix it is if i download and redownload the app. its just a lot of work to have to keep downloading and redownloading. also, when the app crashes, when i download it back onto my phone it only lasts for like a day until it stops working again! >:( i notice it stops because i stop getting notifications and calls etc and my friends text me and say "why didnt you answer the call" and im like RRRREEEEEE SKYPE DID A CRASH AGAIN! now, im not much of a computer genius and i dont know what would cause this, but maybe you could try lightening the app of all this crazy stuff? for example, TAKE OFF THE HIGHLIGHTS ;) no one even uses them anyways so i mean, it doesnt even do THAT much damage. plus it will satisfy me :) all i have to say about the tutorials is... THEYRE ANNOYING. please make it an option if you want them. because theres people like me who want to figure it all out on my own. like i said before, skype crashes and i have to redownload the app, well every time i go back on i cant do aNytHIng because the tutorial is in the way! its not a bad idea, its just not for everyone. im not trying to crap on all your hard work because i know youre just trying to do good, and youre trying to find ways to help make your users happy. i understand your motives. but please be original and dont drown the user with all these features that are a huge change! go slow, take your time to change things, and dont dump it all on it like this. less is more in my opinion so please dont overdue it. if you slow down and dont go so fast moving with the change, users wouldnt be sending so many negative reviews! i mean, of course theres gonna be negative reviews, but there wont be as much. and please dont forget, PLEAAASE FIX THE CRASHING ISSUE! i hope you have a wonderful day and have fun making the changes i requested! <3

New features are unnecessary really ~

I can I download the older version?? Do not update the app! This version is horrible! You cant see who s online, no way to change from online to away to do not disturb. The whole interface is a mess with added useless features!! Do not update. Youll regret it.

Can not find phone number in contact in the app. UI is so difficult to use. Incoming calls dont ring.

How to send sms on new skype iPhone app? Cant! I bought skype credit to international sms and calls, now I cant send sms! How to downgrade to old skype? **This update today still nothing changes; still cant send sms to regular cell phone numbers, wth !!! ??

Its a good app, especially people that dont have iPhones they can use Skype instead of face time. Overall its a good app.????

Whyd you have to completely redo the design? It was fine as it was. Thank you for making changes that are slowly improving the app, including online indicators. Now, please add the ability to toggle my online availability like I can on the desktop, and used to be able to on the mobile app. Then it would be worth 5 stars.

Sending SMS is still broken, UI is still a huge step back for all of us who use Skype as communications tool and not as a social network. Ive been a user since v 1.0, a paying one for over 10 years, but it may be time for me to look elsewhere.

I really like Skype, but bring back the cool ringing music

This is the worst user interface I have seen on any conference app. Starts callers on unremovable mute. 50 minutes on a call and cant get the basics worked out. Avoid this junk.

There is now way anymore to send text messages via Skype :(

Sadly, Skype is no longer the great App that it was at the beginning of 2017. Terrible user interface and no longer for business or serious people, now it pretend to be another time-wasting teens App.

Unintuitive, some feature just dont work, sound quality bad.

The new sounds for Skype when connecting to a call are horrendous and terrible. They are loud, disruptive, and super irritating. The previous sounds were amazing and I actually enjoyed listening to them. Please change them back.

I have to re download it everyday just to send messages. U guys SOMEHOW managed to make this ugly app even more infuriating than it already was. Fix it.

Please. I need my Do Not Disturb and "invisible" mode back.

Unfortunately since the update calls very rarely work. I generally have about 10 - 15 minutes of trying to call somebody and having them try to call me before itll even ring. Upon ringing its a gamble whether the recipient is notified before the call hangs up automatically. Both the person Im calling and I have both had skype open the entire time and just watch "missed call" show up without ringing on the recipients end. Not worth using anymore.
