Skype for iPhone App Reviews

The updated Skype has basically diminished most of the functionality and then added in features I do not care about. Navigation is less intuitive than before. The "share your location" button is in the way of sending messages and cumbersome to exit out of. Do Not Disturb function has always been useless in mobile. The app struggles when switching from desktop to mobile. This is just a mess up all around.

Keeps logging me out. Wont accept the Skype name Ive had for over a decade. Keeps saying "that Microsoft account doesnt exist". Very frustrating. Going to Face Time instead.

The entire program has changed. I can no longer see a users status so I dont know if Im sending a message to someone when they are away, logged out or available. This is just a total joke. Bring back the original format.

How can I tell who is online? How can I tell if I am online? Or change my status? With this new update I cant figure out how to do anything anymore. All basic functions are hidden somewhere. I dont care about the theme color, I just need a simple app to call people individually or have group calls. I can achieve half of that through whatsapp or messenger now so there is not need to suffer through the frustrations of using Skype.

I am unable to use Bluetooth headset

it just says sending and nothing goes out. turn it off. open it up. uninstall it. reinstall it. on wifi. on cellular data. if this piece of crap cannot even send a basic text content, it is beyond useless.

Used Skype primarily to make calls to my parents cell phones. With this update, cant seem to make it work. And cant figure out some other things I used to do. So - used as opportunity to teach my parents how to use Whats App. A blessing in the end. Thanks MSFT for finally making that happen. Thats a better app any way - even before this update (??).

Two steps back. It seems, that the ratings with more stars are listed first.... Accidentally? Useless features. Zero star rating! Online status missing Own status cannot be set (invisible, on line, off line...) I want the old version back!

honest to god I didnt think it could physically get this bad, but lo and behold, it has... nothing will load, it lags like no tomorrow, and if you so much as breathe wrong on your screen, youll be on an entirely different page... nobody wants this - please for the love of god just make skype Skype again instead of this mess

I honestly dont like this update, its confusing and complicated and I dont even know which contacts are online. Bring back the old one. This one is god awful. If I could give this 0 stars I would.

The new version has greatly improved video quality and consistency! Kudos to Team Skype! Now if only I could get back my workhardplayfair account please? Thank you. I LOVE YOU SKYPE!!!

This is frustrating . I held off updating to the latest version because everything was working fine. I updated and couldnt call (voice or video ) anyone on my contact list out on 3G, The only thing that did work was the Skype out , which I must say had the best audio quality that Ive ever noticed. So if yours is working now , dont update until Skype gets their APPt together!!

IPhone 4 does not support upgrading to iOS 9. Users ios7 and Ios 8 after your updates are left without Skype. Верните Скайп Айфону 4 - iOS 7.

Not really digging that the new update automatically sets my calls( voice and video) to speaker phone. The call quality is sketchy and the "improvements" are not much more than just cosmetic and have no real bearing on the apps ability to function properly. I could have gone for more function and quality than flashy new back grounds and split screens that wont go away. My boyfriend and I miss calls to each other because they dont come through, or when they do, the app locks up and we have to start the call over. Messaging is slow and will take forever to send or receive. I sent a message and he got it, and I the response, after we were both standing next to each other. This was about an hour later. Please give me back the old Skype....I hate the new look and sounds. If you want to make an update thats useful, how bout one that lets the alert sounds work WHILE you have the messenger OPEN. Even on the old versions, I would only ever get alerts if the app was closed. -B

I tried to video call my boyfriend, tapped the video camera button, and nothing happened. I tried closing the app and re opening it, checking wifi, etc. but I had to re download and Im not even sure if that will work. Im extremely frustrated with this bug.

Why do you change things that work, not adding a single perk but making them more complicated and limited than a previous version? Its the sin of IT developers: they dont have in mind what we need and is best for us but whats in their "brilliant" minds. Yes, it has a lot of stupid colors.

Almost use skype in my daily life. Stable, good sound, good connection.

Overall, the quality of the calls is very good. The issue comes with the system itself. Theres no tutorial so its confusing and hard to figure out. It could be quite a bit more user friendly.
