Skype for iPhone App Reviews

If I could give negative stars I would. If giving my contacts away to Microsoft wasnt bad enough, I cant for the life of me work out how to call specific individual numbers when my contacts have multiple numbers. Ive literally gone to copying numbers directly from my contacts to the number dialer. This gets my vote for the single worst app upgrade in iPhone history. Get your act together Skype/Microsoft. This version is just horrid.

What is skype even trying to be anymore? The squiggles make me feel so anxious or like my mic is being accessed. No thank you. And oh sure, tiny smiley in the corner of every single message makes it look like everything :) is :) just :) fine :) and :) dandy :) because the chat bubbles are totally not hideous and oversized. Also it now takes three minutes for a 16-character IM to send, i guess.

Seems that Skype doesnt know what it wants to be. Is it social media? Is it chat? Is it video calling? Personally I want a clean, simple IM and video calling that works across many platforms and devices. Screen sharing and file transfer are some useful extra features. Stories/highlights/status I dont care (but concise presence view is good to have) Why is it now so hard to get to favorites and why did you have to break compatibility with older versions. Now I cant call my parents.

I use the voice over IP for intl calls the quality is better than AT&T at a much better price point

The new update is slow and confusing, it was perfectly fine before. I can barely do anything with out accidentally sending something. The app was great before this "update"

Old Skype never had this problem. Whenever me and my friend would Skype, the video of my friend would go off on my side and they never had touch their video. This has been happening more than once. Very sad. I wish they would have the old layout.

Skype used to be so easy to use with a great UI and basic features. Now it has a HORRIBLE UI (childish, in fact) and is basically a terribly made clone of Snapchat! I use Skype to message and call; I dont need to "follow" people. Skype is not a social media app! I really hope Microsoft rolls back, otherwise I am using Discord full time.

The only thing i like about this version is the possibility to mark a conversation as unread. The user interface feels strange (e.g. fade out when swiping from the left screen edge when in conversation is just unnatural) and the inability to change my online status is a no-go! Forcing us to upgrade to a half-working application is just rude. Im considering switching to an alternative... Lets hope for an update that re-introduces the lost features and fixes all the annoyances.

Been using this app for a couple years now. Its taking a little bit for me to get comfortable with the update because I am a creature of habit & routine. I do especially love the crystal clear video feed now & the split video monitor. My S.O. works away from home & having this medium to communicate has been vital to the success of our relationship. I dont use the app for anything else but communicating with him so I cannot speak to its business or education applications but I Love It for what it does do for me!

Really bad UX. Nothing makes sense. I dont even know where to look if my contact is online. Please listen to people feedback.

What a terrible user interface, they really have killed the skype on iPhone. Bring back the old skype.

Where are the setting and everything else useful? Why do I need "bots" front and center???? I use skype to make phone calls and video chat

This is pretty much the worst version of Skype since the app has been lauched. I should never have updated.
