Solid functionality, just finished a 20 minute call, transatlantic, with No issues.

The new Skype is NOT USER FRIENDLY AT ALL!!! It was fine before!!! I will be deleting until I hear of some type of IMPROVEMENT.

Please we want the old skype. This "modern" design is too complicated

This new version is trying too hard to be Snapchat or Twitter. Its now unintuitive and the interface is a mess that looks like it was inspired by the late 80s. Whoever decided to turn this app into the dumpster fire that its become should lose their job.

Ive noticed several times where while in the middle of something important the audio skype call can stop, I doubt its a wifi issue as during a video chat not only does it look great but theres very little in terms of connection issues

New update took away the ability to zoom in while viewing another persons screen while in vertical mode, also took away ability to move around what section of a persons video you are viewing in vertical mode. Big ugly things on the screen while my partner is sharing video, they get in the way. Annoying LOUD new dial up tone. All around terrible and Im going to be using it less and less whenever possible.

The new UI and the lack of the features from the previous version was bad enough. Now this update ruins calling. The calls get dropped on a regular basis and the call notifications do not work. This the basic premise of skype. How can you fools at Microsoft be this dumb to keep ruining a product that not only worked well but people loved. Another Call/video/message client will emerge and claim this market. Hopefully soon this new Skype is unacceptable and a hole needs to be filled.

Can I give this update no stars? I use this app in my work. Now its designed for teenagers. Please tell me how to change my online status. It sure isnt obvious.

Let me add my voice to the chorus of people wondering why in the world skype took their distinctive sound, and easy-to-interpret icons and tossed them all out the window for a generic ring tone and hieroglyphics that take several seconds to decipher. Not sure what other changes theyve made, but the video quality has also plummeted, and my calls continuously fail. Finally resorted to using the vid option on Facebook messenger. If you can avoid the update, do it- I wish I hadnt updated mine.

In video call when both parties open the camera, app let the user to see in two ways. 1. the other person video in full size 2. Both videos on same screen. But after selection second option it doesnt let the user to select the first option. You have to end the call and then make video call again. Please fix this error and include in next release.

Spoke long distance for 30 minutes, loud and clear. Works well.

Microsoft speciality: make good things bad and bad things even worse.

I use skype privately and for business. For business contacts I have a second account to be used when other means of communication fail (Webex, BlueJeans, Hangout, etc.). Now to the critiques: - No professional will ever use Moments but what I dont get is: this already vent viral when WhatsApp did it and so many users hated it, why do it in the first place? Exactly, jumping on the everybodies train. It is not a feature anyone should want or need. It is just as irrelevant as the status. - Same as with WhatsApp: Contacts are shared with microsoft, without the consent of the contacts in question - The icon set is the worst in history - not iconic at all and very confusing not just for first time users. Minimalistic yes, somewhat readable yes, but usable? Not at all ! - Where can anyone set the availability status? - Where is the availability status of others? - Why do I need to make 3+ taps / clicks to sign out? Because microsoft wants me to be online 24/7? Seriously?

please make it possible to change the new tune, when you call someone, to the old skype tune and change the background to the color blue and white like before?!

I mean, its missing some key features BUT its not THAT bad. I happen to like the new UI. Its nice.

Poor in options and functionality

The new user interface absolutely sucks.

I like the latest version of Skype it is faster and snappy; hope this will be great new platform to continually improving Skype wonderful features.

Old version please this is garbage

OMG you completely screwed up a good app. It used to be a great but gradually it was getting worse and worse and now the new version is the final nail in the Skype cofin. Horrible! Its like made for mental patients which is an insult to mental patients. This is the end of Skype. I am unistalling right now. Fortunately other apps like Slack are getting better so Skype will quietly disappear in history.
